I think that since I have been accepted to Ravelry I forget about blogging because I am WAY too wrapped up in looking at what everyone else is doing!! Plus, there has not been a lot of knitting around here. We have been playing outside in the wagon and the pool, & the above photo is the only frog pool picture that I had that was decent enough for the web. All the rest show F baby's naked little hiney, which I think is so cute.

Speaking of which, my little baby is now 9 months old. Yikes, where did the time go?!?!?! As I write this post he is crawling all over the living room and talking up a storm. I have been working on planning his 1st birthday, but some things have been put on hold. I have been studying for my Cardiac Physics Registry that I am taking in 2 months. I don't have to pass the test to keep my job, but it will mean a small raise and make it easier to get hired elsewhere if I decide to change jobs. So I am just sucking it up and preparing to take the test. But I really hate it because it seems like a waste - learning a lot of things that I don't apply in my day to day job activities. But that's a rant for another day :) I would like to start posting with some regularity but I am so bad at it. How do all you mothers out there do it?

It's Been A Long Time

I fell like it's been forever since I blogged!!! We finally got our house finished and moved in, got some internet access, and then the unthinkable happened.................
About 2 weeks after we got married something happened, and a few weeks ago we found out that there will be a new little family member coming to OUR house this late November. That's right, I am pregnant!!!!! So I have really been feeling like CRAP lately, very very tired and nauseated. Working a 40-50 hours a week doesn't help matters any but I think that I may be ready to get back into the blogging world. Some days are better than others, & of course there has been NO knitting done due to lack of time & feeling bad. I hope it changes in this upcoming trimester because I have a lot of little things that I would love to make for the wee one. Especially once we find out in another month or so what we are having. I don't care as long as it is healthy :)

That's right, as of 2 days ago I finally finally finally got married!!! Yea!!! I think that I am going to like being married. I mean, I love it so far. I still love it even though our house is not done so we are staying with my parents. On our 1st night of marriage, I am apparently such a wild sleeper that my brand spanking new husband had to get in the other bed in our hotel room ('cause the only rooms that were available were double beds & YES we did wait until the last minute to find somewhere to stay & YES we were disillusioned enough to think that we would have our house done in time!).
Not only that, but new hubby wrecked his truck the night before our wedding and it is probably going to have to be totalled. I couldn't find my marriage license the day of our wedding at first, then realized it WAS in fact in my dash, just shoved waaayyyy up in there, and I ripped it.
Oh well.
Today we finally got power hooked up to our new home, but alas, the same stomach virus that infected my sister (also a bridesmaid) the day of our wedding has now infected hubby. I know in my vows I said in sickness & in health, but come on. 2 days and I am already giving out the Zofran and Imodium, and I have already had to clean up puke. I guess this is all just getting me ready to take the good with the bad. God bless him, I love him. Anyway, I think that the virus is starting to affect me now, so I am off to lay on the couch away from the new spouse, so we don't make it worse with the sickness. Next post hopefully will contain pics, either of the wedding or the house, and quite possibly KNITTING (which has really taken a backseat in my life lately. And no, the shawl is still on the needles.)

Well, I finally got the rest of my photos uploaded. Yea!!!! I got some more KnitPicks yarn, 3 skeins of Andean Treasure in Fog to one day make an Elizabeth Zimmerman baby sweater. I like gray and it can be used for a boy or a girl sweater. I also want to start making some socks so I got some Bare sock yarn. I really liked how it looked knitted up on Knit Picks website.

These are 12 skeins of Elann Devon in white and gray. I have already started a Swallow Tail Shawl from Interweave Knits Fall 2006 in the white, which I hopefully can finish and wear for my WEDDING!!! That's right, I am getting married in 2 months. I really would like to get it finished but if I don't it will still be something beautiful that I can keep. I am over halfway through the body repeats and once my batteries in my camera get charged I am going to post some pics of my WIP.

Lastly, the books. 50 Baby Booties To Knit by Zoe Mellor, which has the CUTEST baby booties and socks. I haven't knitted anything out of it yet but I have some future projects in mind and some stash to be utilized. Also I picked up 2 of the Yarn Harlot's books, which are both cute in her usual manner. Knitting Rules has lots of good tips about knitting, gauges, how to measure items for kids, adults, etc. and I know that i will be using this a lot in the future.

So, my upcoming wedding has been a major reason that I haven't been posting. We are also building a garage and putting an apartment above it so we have had all that to deal with. As previously mentioned I am working in the Swallow Tail Shawl from IK, a Shedir hat that I only have the ribbing done, and I thought I finished up an Odessa today. Now, the reason that I thought that I finished it was because once I got it on my head it's about an inch short because I CAN'T MEASURE!! So, now I am either going to have to rip back to before the decreases and make it longer or give it to someone with a smaller head. While giving it to someone with a smaller head sounds great, I know that I will be ripping back because I have an OCD personality like that. Oh, and remember the orange sweater I was working on months ago? Yeah, well I finished a sleeve and it was perfect in length, but when I tried it on S's arm it was WAY too long and hung off of his arm like something gross. So I ripped the whole entire thing up, and plan on doing a seamless sweater from Elizabeth Zimmerman. Everyone has been doing them in blogland, they look so easy, and I know own all of the EZ books (another online purchase). A lot of these things will have to wait because of the wedding. I plan on starting some socks and S's sweater after the wedding. So if my blogging continues to be sporatic, this is why. I am off to get ready to go out for some food, and I finally get to wear a sweater 'cause it has finally cooled off some in the South.

To begin with, I love to order stuff off the internet. And since I started knitting, well, a lot of stuff has been purchased. I got a package from Knitpicks and got the size US 1, 2, and 3 double point needles. Still haven't worked with them yet but I have heard a ton of good stuff about them and I want to start making socks one day so there you go. I also got a set of size 5 needles, some black, orange and white merino wool that has already been made into a super secret project that will be revealed one day. Oh, and when I ordered my swap partners Manos for her scarf I also ordered some Crystal Palace Taos that will be a cabled scarf for myself.

These beautiful stitch markers came from Amy over at GoodToBeGirl.com. If anyone reads this and has not seen these they are so cute. I wanted to keep both sets but I didn't, I sent the pumpkins to my ISE pal. So keep an eye out on Amy's site 'cause they are so cute!! I want some more but have been holding back and trying to keep to a somewhat budget.

I have some more porn but my dial up SUPER slow so I guess it will have to wait another day. I am such a bad blogger.............

Corn Maize 2006

Yep, that's right. That's part of the corn maze. We had a lot of fun, but I think that I liked hanging out with everyone as opposed to the actual maze part.

This is the birthday girl's pregnant belly (20 5/7 weeks). I don't think that she would really want me to post a picture of a her face, so I thought just a belly shot would do. I really hope that if I ever have kids I stay little like that too. You look great b-day girl!!!!

And of course, it really wouldn't be a trip if I didn't drag along Lindsey, my bestest friend in the whole world. Scott couldn't go because he had to work and then he went hunting. There were refreshments at the maze, so of course, we both bought a bag of cotton candy, drinks, & a chicken sandwich which was really good. Until we both ate ALL the cotton candy and everything else. I finished mine first and started to feel a little sick. Lindsey proceded to eat all of hers as well and by the time we got halfway back home we had to pull over so she could vomit. Just like old times (Lindsey is almost always good for a story that involves her puking. She gets car sick - alot!)

There was also a "petting zoo" at the maze, and I use that term very loosely. It involved a sheep, a goat, and one small pig all crowded together in a dog pen. And they smelled so bad I almost threw up. GROSS!!!! I have a better petting zoo than that at my house. Anway, we had a good time and now I am going to iron some clothes for work since the weekend is almost over :(

I got my scarf from my swap pal!!!! Squueeee!!!!! My package came Wednesday and I am such a bad blogger that I am just now getting the pictures posted. The scarf is 100% alpaca and it feels so nice and soft. Not only that but the pattern is beautiful. She also sent me some chocolate, 3 postcards, a lightup Nemo pen, and 3 SKEINS OF YARN (elann Devon)!! I actually ordered that same yarn last week, but in a different colorway. I must say that this swap has been terrific. I am still working on my partners scarf because I am slow and haven't had a lot of time to work on it. I am on my 2nd and last skein of yarn so I should be able to finish it soon especially since I got Sabrina on DVD and the new Grey's Anatomy, Gilmore Girls, and Nip Tuck. Plenty of stuff to watch so that I can keep churning out some knittin'.

Now I am on my way to a corn maize to celebrate a friend's birthday but I am going to knit knit knit all day tomorrow. Happy Birthday Leah!!!

Stew Meat

Just got some new stew meat in about 30 minutes ago. And here he is.............

Scott went out into the woods for about 5 minutes before he killed him. This is his first buck ever; he usually shoots doe. Now, I am all for animal rights and protecting animals from cruelty, but I have to admit that I love me some deer meat and I really did not feel sorry for the deer because he had gotten killed. We do eat the meat, and have even given some deer away before to people that were too poor to afford much food, much less meat. So I don't think that it's cruel. Plus, the deer population here in the deep South has gotten TOTALLY out of control. They ate our entire garden this year and insurance in our area has gone up due to the increased number of wrecks that deer cause. Plus, their food supply is lower because there are more of them. So there. Totally justified. And now we have the meat to go into our stew that takes us all day to cook outside in a rather large pot. But it is So worth it.

I do have some knitting news. I finished my blanket last weekend, gifted it yesterday, and forgot to take a picture!!! I have also gotten some packages and worked on my ISE scarf. Alas, after I took the deer pictures my batteries in my camera went dead so pics will be coming later!

A lot has been going on lately!! I finally ordered and got my new computer and now have it all set up. I have also ordered yarn from 2 different places for my ISE partner, and have received one package.

I got some Manos, and started a My So Called Scarf on US 11's. However, the scarf kind of felt like a mat or something woven. I got on some discussion boards and someone said that they had this same problem but they started over with some US 13's. So I ripped mine out too and am about to start over. Still haven't recevied yarn from Knitting Garden and it has been like 3 weeks now. I have only ordered from them 1 time before and the same thing happened with the delayed shipping. I like the yarn I got from them the time before but I have issues with their shipping. Maybe I am the only one, I don't know.

I also got another package in the mail and received..........

I have been wanting Scarf Style for quite some time now and with the swap I finally had some excuse to get it. There are some lovely scarves in the books and I want to make a several of them, but they are on hold for the moment. I also looked through the Knitted Toys book and I think that there are several things that I can make from leftover yarn, so there can be some stash busting involved. Yeah!!!

Happy happy news!!!! I am going to be going to part time status at work, but still getting full time hours. So what that means is that I am going to start receiving benefits (insurance, vacation time, etc.) but still work the same amount of hours. This is awsome because it means that I can FINALLY quit my old job!!!! Sadly, I will be making a little less money, but no biggie, 'cause it's still an awesome deal.
Sadly, my computer has just DIED. This will be a picture-less post and I am saddened to have to say goodbye to my friend of 6 years. My life officially sucks, and I need a new computer. I have the money, but don't really want to shed the extra cash for it when I could use that to pay off some bills and buy more yarn. I am such a penny pincher since I got this new job. I think that it's because I finally have some extra cash.
I have gotten my International Scarf Exchange partner and finally ordered the yarn for her scarf!!!! Don't know much about her and she hasn't posted much to her blog so I really hope that she likes what I have in mind. I also ordered a few little things to go with her scarf in the package. Is anybody else sending extra stuff? If so, what? I could use a few ideas because I don't have a LYS so all my stuff comes from the net. I haven't surfed a lot lately and, once again don't know much about her, so I am stuck. I don't want to get her something she won't like, but oh well. At least I am trying and it is the thought that counts :)
In other knitting news, everyone needs to check out a new podcast I discovered!!!! It is 2 women, called Lime and Violet, and OH MY GOODNESS I am hooked. Seriously. I made my brother download all their podcasts at a friends house ( cause we have crappy DIAL UP) and have been listening to them on the road. They are at http://limenviolet.blogspot.com and I LOVE these women. They're crazy. Seriously.
Well, that's about all I have to catch up on for now. I have to finish up my English paper which is due on Friday. The topic: Knitting. It is a descriptive paper with no references so I am describing how knitting makes me feel and why I like it. Pray for me cause these teachers are tough and kinda mean. We don't like them at all.

Note; I do have a finished object but can't share because then a certain co-worker whom is expecting would know what it was. I will share later, but I'll say this; it came from MDK and I finished it in one day.

I <3 The Benchwarmers. Seriously, if you haven't seen it and like David Spade and N. Dynamite then you have to watch it.

So, besides catching a movie here and there I have been working 5-6 days a week, on top of going to schoo.l And my posting has been, well, not so much. So this will be a mini catch up post and I am going to try to do much much better but NO promises are going to be made :)

I know, it grew!!!! I don't know how because there are 157 MILLION bobbles, which by the way, I really do not like to do. Would not recommend all the bobbling.

That's about it with the knitting. GG is still on the back burner; I only have about 1 inch left then the ribbing and sleeves. I have a serious case of notfinishingitis.

And of course when things aren't finished I joined another swap!!!! This one is the International Scarf Exchange and I think that it will be fun. I have done a lot of scarves in the past and they can be pretty easy once I memorize the scarf and it's portable. Also gave me an excuse to buy some yarn and maybe a new book!! Sign ups are still open and you have until November to get the scarf to your pal so I feel like I have time (I hope).

Okay, so I am going to be better about blogging and stay superorganized and on top of things from here on out!!!!!! (Maybe) So I will be posting again very soon about my busy and boring life .............. fun times.

............... for all my life.

I KNOW it's been awhile since I have posted. But it's a good thing really. See I GOT A NEW JOB!!!!!!! So of course I had to buy new clothes, trying to get all my shot records, blood work, physical, etc etc. I am very excited because

A #1 I will be getting paid 2.5 times more than I currently do
B #2 It's a larger teaching hospital with a GREAT cardiology department
C #3 I will be doing what I actually went to school to do ;)

So good things all around, except that I have to drive a lot farther than my current job, kind of cuts into my knitting time, and I will be working 5 days a week with no benefits 'cause it's PRN (for now). There is the chance of a full time position in the next 6-9 months, so for the time being I am working 2 days a month at my current job to keep my benefits there. Knowing me as soon as I quit and my insurance ran out something horrible would happen and I would owe 2 million dollars in medical bills. So busy times are here.

Plus, I started back to school and I am trying to get ready to take my registry. I can practice without being registered, but as for as accreditation goes and being hired somewhere else, I NEED to be registered. So, not much progress in the knitting department. I have about half of a sleeve done on Scott's sweater, and I have gotten half of the baby blanket done so maybe a little bit of progress has been made. Nothing picture worthy though.

Sherbert in a box. Even though she doesn't look happy about it, she LOVES sitting in boxes, cabinets, baskets, etc.

So I have still been working on the baby blanket, but I am hating the 10 ROWS of moss stitch over 167 stitches. Feels like it takes forever. So the other day I was over at Charity's blog where she posted about something called the Norwegian Purl. Now with this method, the purl stitch is worked into the back of the needle. In Denmark and Switzerland apparently this method is very common. I had never heard of it but I am going to give it a whirl if it will make the moss stitch any easier, because I love the way it looks but hate to do it. Go figure. I like this site because there is a little explanation over to the side of the picture, but once you click on the picture a video appears. Great for visual learners.

To help pass the knitting time I have been listening to some podcasts. Now, I haven't been a big podcast listener, but the other night I downloaded one of Pixie's podcast and when me and Scott were on the mountain I listened and really liked it. I have since downloaded some more, and have been searching for other podcast. I downloaded iTunes, which I have heard is really easy to use, and when it started installing a screen popped up saying that I had to have Windows 2000 or XP. Guess what? I have neither!!! I run Windows ME, duh. Should have read the fine print. Anyway, go check out Pixie Purls and if anyone knows of any other knitting podcast then let me know because I have found a whole nother realm of knitting!!!!

I also started school today, so I doubt that I am going to have time to do it. Yes I am going back to school. This time to get my Bachelor's in Health Science. Totally online, and all of my core classes are knocked out, which is due mainly in part to me being in college for the last 500 million years. It will only take me until next year to get done, and I am only taking 2 classes at a time. That's probably about all that I can handle, since I work, am trying to find another job, HAVE to take (and pass) my registry, pay off student loans, and would like to get married very very soon.

Not to mention that I have 4 projects currently on the needles. That's right ............ FOUR. I have gotten 12 inches done on the baby blanket.Thanks to Girls Just Want To Have Fun, with Sarah Jessica Parker in it, I have seen some real blanket progress. I got the movie Thursday in my recent Netflix delivery and must say that I LOVE the movie. I added it to my Amazon Wishlist so that I can remember to get it later.

Only 2 inches left on the Green Gable. I must pay attention to it and GET IT DONE. I am so tired if it being on the needles and would like to have a FO. AND of course I haven't picked up the beaded scarf or Scott's orange sweater. All that wool is too hot, plus for the scarf I have to carry a chart around with me. I really need to have some sit down devotional time, and work has been too crazy for me to do much there. EVERYBODY has been admitted to the hospital recently I think. We have had quite a few patients in the past month that have even been admitted twice. Then there have been several patients that have died, so that kind of takes up time getting everything prepared, paperwork signed, etc. And then you add the crazys in, and a holiday weekend ................ well it's just not good.

Off to bed now in the wee hours of the morning, and to watch SJP just one more time. (I love movies from the 80's. I also got Saturday Night Fever and Urban Cowboy. Young John Travolta; love it)

I got the black sheep!!!!! My best friend's (Lindsey) mom (Cheryl) gave it to me the other day as a (late) graduation gift. Now I have the white and the black one!!! AND she knew to get it for me because Lindsey had read it on my blog. Oh, the power of blogdom. Plus, she gave me a bottle of Clinique Happy Heart lotion.
Then, since Lindsey is leaving on vacation and had to have some new Vera Bradley, she scored some free VB stuff and gave me the Java Blue notepad.

I love the Java Blue, just haven't sprung for the purse yet. I might wait though because the new line is coming out in a few months, and they are going to have MATCHING LUNCH BOXES!!!!! I can't wait :)

Since JessaLu has FINALLY gotten her yarn (after the post office issues) I feel like now I can post about the process that I went through to dye it.

First, I placed 2 chairs about 10 feet apart and wound the yarn around & around & around & around ............. this was after locking the cats in the laundry room while doing this since 2 of them tried to eat and play with it.

Then I divided into 4 equal sections, dying 2 sections at a time one at each end. I did the darker colors first, Pink Lemonade and Strawberry Kool Aid. I just filled my pots up with water and put in 2 packs of Pink and 1 pack of Strawberry. I only did 1 of the Strawberry since it is kind of dark to begin with. I heated the water up to almost boiling then let it sit for 30 minutes. After it cooled I did the other 2 sections with 4 packs of Lemonade.

I soaked it in my (clean) bathtub in Eucalan,

then hung up to dry as I headed to work!

Then I got ready to wind it up and hank it.

But alas, I didn't really like all that yellow. So off to the store for some Wilton's!!!!! I had never used it but found it very easy to do, plus I added in a little vinegar to set the color. I dyed one section orange and left one yellow section so then it looked like a sunrise, or some sort of summer sorbet.

Then off to the post office to mail it (twice)!!

After the success with the orange Wilton's I thought I would try some blue and orange stripes, but it didn't work out that well. I put half of my yarn in, and then the blue started creeping up the yarn and then it just got kind of weird looking. So after about 15 minutes I just dumped the whole thing in, but I ended up really liking it!!! It was all blue and turquoise, kind of like underwater ocean colors. I gave it to a fellow co-worker that just left to go to another hospital. I wish that I had taken of pic of it reskeined though so that the colors could be seen a little better. Oh well.

I almost forgot that I have a FO!!! I don't know how, since I have a really serious problem with finishing stuff. Anyway, it's not knitting but cross stitch.

A tea towel for my mom, that she ironed and hung on the washstand. It also matches her blue Rowe pottery. I thought it was cute!

So once I did actually finish something of course I started this..........

It's a baby blanket for a co-workers grandchild. I usually don't do baby blankets 'cause they take SO long and I get tired of it very quickly. In fact I am already tired of it and I only have 6 inches done. I still have 28 inches left ................... I got the pattern from Leisure Arts Our Best Knit Baby Afghans. Lots of really cute afghans, plus I only paid a few dollars for the book from Ebay. AND the yarn is Lion Brand's Pound of Love. That's right, 16 ounces of yarn for less that $10 bucks. Yes it's acrylic, but soft and not like Red Heart. Ugh!!!

So the interview........ Well I think that it went very well. I talked to the nurse manager that is over the department for about 30-40 minutes. We talked money, taking call, registry dates, where I see myself in 2-10 years, future goals, blah blah blah. Then she said that she was going to have HR run my references and I should know something by the middle of next week. Sounds positive!!!!! I know that usually they don't run references unless really interested. And the hospital .................... it's SO much bigger than where I work at now. AND one of my classmates currently works there (and I like her) so I would at least know one person. Anyway, trying not to get my hopes up too terribly much but the money is more than DOUBLE what I am currently making. That's really not saying a lot since I get paid peanuts now, but it would still be double peanuts.

To end this post I am leaving a picture of the Lantern Moon black sheep tape measure ................. I must have it!!!!! I have the white one, so if I got the black one they could keep each other company :) Maybe with the new job I could afford it!

No Mail Receptacle

So yeah, this is my yarn that I dyed for my pal. And it got SENT BACK!!!!!!! I emailed my pal JessaLu who apparantly is having some issues with stupid mail carriers because she clearly has a mailbox, which I saw in one of her posts. So I am off to the post office to re-mail and hopefully it will get there this time. I emailed her this picture and she is hauling it to the post office. REALLY glad I don't work there :)

I finally knitted up a little swatch from the yarn MY dye pal sent me. I really think that I like it better than I did before. I can't wait to finish my practice socks so that I can knit this yarn into some socks. Or maybe a hat. Or a skinny scarf. Still haven't made up my mind. I have time though since I am a little slow on the current projects, but I have also worked a million and one hours, trying to get another job, and take my registry, AND I start back to school next month to get my Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences. Speaking of which I need to go get ready for my interview today AND mail JessaLu's package to her again!!!!!!!

I got my yarn from my dye pal, Angela yesterday!!!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I also love Jelly Bellys and am eating them as I am blogging. All in all a very pleasant 1st swap experience. Well I am going to use my handy dandy ball winder and maybe knit up a little swatch real quick to see what this looks like. I think that I even have some scrubs that this might go with. I got packages!!!!

Debbie Stoller's The Happy Hooker and Inspired Cable Knits by Fiona Ellis. I have looked through the cable knits book and already have several projects I would LOVE to do. And of course flipped through the Debbie Stoller and went to the store and got..........

I also just set a date to take my Physics registry so all this will have to be put on hold. I only have 5 weeks to study!!!!!!

Of course I have already started a new project. I have been so jealous of everyone else knitting socks and I am LEFT OUT. I hate to be left out and not know how to do things so I got Sensational Knitted Socks, some size 8 dpn's, and some spare worsted weight yarn from the stash (I knew it would come in handy) and started MY sock!!

It's just a little sock with only 32 stitches cast on & it was the 1st project in the book. It's also my 1st time with dpn's and I seem to have finally gotten the hang of it. I hope it turns out okay. This will be my project to work on during study breaks. I'll try to be diligent with it but it may be slow going.

I am still working on GG. I have got about 8 inches done on the body from the underarms, so not much longer to go until I am finished. I have been working on it during the wee hours of the morning at work. Sometimes we have been busy, but I had 2 good nights where we were slow and I can actually tell that progress has been made.

Off to eat breakfast and start my studying!!!!

Pets

So I am a total blog reading addict and everyone else has pictures of their pets and then I started thinking .................. hum ................ I haven't posted any pictures of MY pets. I feel like a totally bad pet owner, but the rest of that story will come later. 2 of my kitties were gone to the vet, so I didn't grab any pics of them, or of the Weims, but I feel compelled to share what I do have.

Somebody threw out this little brown dog. Me and Scott went fishing, came home, and there he was. People are always throwing animals out because we live in the middle of nowhere. Anyway, I named him Little Brown Dog and he followed me around everywhere and was basically a good sweet little dog. We got rid of him, but in a good way. Mom took him to the vet who removed some warts from his face and thinks she has found him a home :) A little elderly lady that brought her dog to the vet had recently lost said pet, and thought maybe Little Brown Dog would be a good replacement. If she doesn't want him and no home can be found he will be given to a organization that will find him a home but does NOT euthanize.

About the same time that we got rid of LBD, Hannah (my sister) comes home from the Hardware store with Daisy Doodles.

She really is a cute little rabbit and is living in the house. However, she is very scared and likes to run from you and hide under the bed. Hannah let one of our cats in her room to run Daisy out and they never come out. So the bed is torn apart and there is the cat and Daisy cuddled up together; aaawwwww! Anyway, she hides under the bed and if you set out food for her she runs out, grabs a piece, then runs back under the bed. Hopefully, with a lots of time and petting she will come around.

And this fatty is our first house cat, Sunshine. I woke up the other day to her talking in the hall - she was lonely because Smoochie and Sherbert (the other 2 cats) were gone to the vet and she was trying to call them and couldn't figure out where they went. Pitiful huh?

Hopefully this week I can get some pics of the Weims and the other kitties, and of course the goats which is another pet which Scott brought home. But this is a start to the chronicle of the pets.

Kool Aid Yarn

Just thought I'd post a little progress. I did get started on Scott's sweater sleeves & decided to make 2 at a time because I knew that once I got finished with one I wouldn't want to do the other.

I also had my 1st dyeing experience the other night and while my lime green Kool Aid skein did not come out to be one solid color, I still like it. I really didn't stir it like I should have so the bottom of the skein got darker than the top so it's a little varigated. It's hard to tell in the pictures but trust me, it is.

I was SO excited to finally dye some yarn that I cut the strings that hold it together as a skein and just threw it in the pot!!! So then I got this .....

Yeah, took me like 6 hours to untangle it, but I did get the ENTIRE thing done.
I did a little better with the pink lemonade skein, and I left it tied on each end. I think I will call this color way Pretty In Pink. Not very original I know but I do just love that movie:)

Wedding Blast 2006

Well I finally got my camera back and downloaded my pictures to my computer. Jen's wedding was a blast!!!!!!!! We has so much fun. Friday night was the rehearsal. Me and Amy stayed up all night (we're 3rd shifters) but Jen got some sleep thanks to her mom giving her a Tylenol PM.
Me and Amy met at Panera Bread Saturday morning for some good 'ol bagels and coffee and we both showed up wearing this.........

TOTALLY unplanned. Yeah right you're thinking? So did the girl at Panera. But I did have on red flops and Aims had on black. Whatever, we were comfortable AND cute.

While everyone was getting ready the baby of the wedding group had a wonderful time with my lotion bottle in the floor.

She really was the best baby EVER and smiled and laughed and slept. Scott said that if we ever had kids he wants them to act like her. From my lips to God's ears......

And then the appearance of the bride!!!

I was really happy for Jennifer but very glad that the ceremony was short. I had never been in a wedding before and I guess I didn't realize how long you seem to be standing in front of a church full of people. Honestly 5 minutes feels like 2 hours. Another of life's lessons...........

After the wedding of course came the PARTY!!!!!

You can just look at Aims & note that we had a wonderful time. No shoes, dance music, Scott thinking he was DJ Clue..what more does a girl need ;)

And Cake!!!!!

We all had a good time and I hope that Jennifer & Daniel are very happy together. They are spending their honeymoon on a cruise to some place tropical and warm.......................lucky stiffs!

Starting the GG

I got my yarn for the GG KAL!!!! I got the Cotton Fleece in Dusty Sage and I think that I will definitely use this yarn for other projects cause I REALLY like it :)

I couldn't wait until the May 1st to start because I have to start studying for my registry so I went ahead, casted on, and got past the lace part in 1 day!!! For many people this may not seem like much but for me, this was an accomplishment; I am not the fastest knitter......

I hope that I can hurry and get this done quickly because I really have to start studying for my registry. I am putting it off until next week because Jen's wedding is this weekend so I figured there wasn't much use to start studying yet with all the wedding excitement.

This is just a nature shot of the GG at our pond where we went fishing yesterday. Scott caught a little tiny brim but didn't want the picture posted on my blog, but I will leave this post with some shots I took while we were fishing. Enjoy!!!

Not much knitting to report, as I am waiting on my yarn for the Green Gable KAL and Scott's Orange sweater sleeves are kinda boring and small.

Anyway, this is going to be a picture post. Here is me and Scottie 2 Hottie at my graduation a few weeks ago. At this point I was really just ready to go home because we had already been to pinning and then graduation. People talk a lot longer than they should at these things PLUS they don't pronounce your name correctly when it is time to walk across stage!!!! I mean really, I have changed majors a few times so it took me a while to finally graduate and my last name was pronounced WRONG. Whatever, I am over that now.

And finally a picture of me and my BEAUTIFUL friend Amy at a bachelorette party Saturday. Our friend Jen is going to get married next Saturday and we are both in the wedding!!! So last weekend we all went out on the town and danced the night away. It was a BLAST. I woke up on Easter morning with my legs hurting because I haven't been dancing in forever.

Hopefully some knitting news to report later on when I finally ger my GG yarn. Can't wait to get started on it!!!

New KAL!!!!! Carrie is starting a Green Gable KAL and I can't wait to get started. I am downloading the pattern as soon as I get home from work and getting the yarn. The starting date is May 1st, so if anyone wants to sign up go to Carrie's blog and join. I think it's going to be great!!! The pattern is SUPER cute and I can see myself wearing it all the time. Introducing Beady

I present Beady, the scarf.

The yarn is Knit Picks Andean Treasure in Fog. The pattern came from Easy Knit Accessories by Jeanette Trotman and I must say that I am very pleased with the book so far. This is my 1st project with beads and honestly I am not that crazy about all the beads being on my yarn but I really like the finished effect a lot. I also have enough to make the matching hat. It at least gives me a break from the sweater. Speaking of which........

Progress has been made!!! I present to you 23 inches of plain, boring, not interesting at all stockinette stitch on Scott's orange sweater. I am hoping it will get better but don't hold much hope. At least it makes for good TV knitting..........

Bored at work

Well, I am at work so I don't have any pictures to post as of right now. I have my knitting with me, but there is me and one other person working with 2 whole patients. I know that I could potentially get a lot of work done but I am kind of bored and it's quiet and I might go to sleep if I have to work on stockinette stitch. Hopefully in a little bit I can go into an empty room, turn on the T.V. and crank out some inches on Scott's sweater!!!

I did go to my interview last Tuesday but haven't heard anything yet. I thought the interview went really well, especially since I was totally relaxed and reassured the interviewer that I would be more than willing to learn and do the extra stuff. Mainly things that I really don't want to do, like get my vascular registry or even do vascular, which I hate. AND it's a Monday through Friday job, with no weekends, paid holidays, and NO call. Plus, the money is preeetttyyy good too. Oh well, hopefully it will all work out. If not lets hope I can find something else. If anyone knows of an echo position feel more than free to let me know.

Good news though, I can now go back to knitting group on Wednesdays!!!! I have been in school and doing clinicals so I haven't been able to go, but now I can go back. AND I am working extra so that's more cash in the pocket, or more technically to put on student loans :( Maybe I will win the lottery pretty soon and I won't have to worry about it. I promise if I do win the lottery, everyone that has read my blog and commented will get a great knitting surprise. Don't hold your breath though :)

I will try to post some pictures soon. I have dial-up internet though because I live in BFE and don't have high speed. So it might take a little while to get them uploaded but it will be accomplished. Positive thinking!!!!

GRADUATION!!!

Well, no pictures to post today, but I did GRADUATE from college Tuesday night!!!!! Even though it's not knitting related I am still very excited about it. Now if I could just find a job.........I will definitely post some pictures as soon as I get some. And I did get graduation cash so I can buy more yarn eventually. I have made myself NOT by ANY yarn until I am destashed, which will probably take until I finish my master's degree :)

This yarn is a "thick and thin" yarn and knit up very quickly I got the pattern from Berroco's website, and it's just a simple knit every row but very cute with all the different colors in the yarn.

I made this scarf for my grandmother for her birthday. I like the Caron Simply Soft yarn; it's cheap, knits up so soft, and the scarf looked a lot more complicated than it is. The fan and feather pattern is so easy to memorize, I took this scarf with me everywhere while I was knitting it. It's one of those good travel patterns :)

I love this bag, but I think that I am going to put a liner in it so when I spill something in my purse I won't mess it up. This purse actually took me about a month to make due to decreased time, but actually when I got to work on it it went very quickly. Again an easy pattern to memorize (see the pattern here? no pun intended) so it was very easily totable!

Of course once I got done with all these FO's what was a girl to do? Immediately cast on for another project!!!!

Eventually this will be my boyfriend's sweater. I cast on while I watched the 1st season of GRAY'S ANATOMY whick I love love love!!!! This is Knit Pick's Andean Silk in Orange. The pattern is from Ann Budd's The Knitter's Handy Book of Sweater Patterns and so far I am in love with this yarn, because it is a silk, alpaca, wool blend and so so soft. I hope it gets worn, but I did say I wouldn't give it to him until we were married because of the curse of the boyfriend sweater. Scott did however reassure me that it would get worn and has already picked out a shirt to wear underneath. That's true love people!

Finally, just wanted to include a picture of my beautiful friend Heather, who we are teaching to knit in class. We've got to hurry though because graduation is 1 week and 6 days away!!! WHOOT!!!!

Ramblings

Not much knitting to report, but hopefully I will get some done today because I stayed home from clinicals. I decided since county schools were delayed and I had some extra time built up I would just stay at home. I thought I would just post some pics though. This is the screen of my ultrasound machine. On the screen is a picture of the heart, because that's what I am going to school to do; cardiac ultrasound or echocardiography. AND we only have 6 weeks exactly until GRADUATION!!!!! I am so excited I can't stand myself :)

This is me on an ultrasound table in the school lab. We were doing leg ultrasounds and Melissa got a little crazy with the probe and then Heather took this picture because we all laughed and thought it looked like I was doing something inappropriate. We have since named this the "boner picture", and I am told that it will be a part of the graduation slide show ;)

And last but certainly not least this cutie is my future husband. Hopefully future as in sometime this year after I graduate from school and get a real paying job. We have some land on top of a mountain and are going to build a beautiful house together, as long as we don't kill each other first.

I am off to knit so that I can post more in the very near future and hopefully get done with a million projects I have lined up. I really need to de-stash but I have projects for all of my yarn and it would kill me to get rid of it!!!!!

So I am just starting my blog, which is mainly about knitting stuff. Not much to post right now, as I haven't loaded many pictures. I have been knitting for about 2 years; been in school most of that time so the knitting has been very therapeutic. But........ I do have this picture which is a feather and fan scarf that I made for my Echo teacher for Christmas. I am doing another one for my grandmother in cream but currently don't have any pictures of it.

I also did a diagonal knit baby blanket in blue Homespun for a friends baby

It went really quick because the Homespun is thicker than regular worsted weight yarn and you just start at one corner increasing up to a certain number of stitches and then decrease down to one stitch. Super cute and fluffy and soft!!! Plus not very expensive :) Hope to have more pictures soon, but I am currently in school so the knitting has been a little slow. Only 6 weeks until graduation!!!!!!!!!
